Paste alternative

The free alternative
to Paste

Paste is a great clipboard manager, and it's paid. Trove does the essentials (history, search, pinboards and sync across your Apple devices) for free, adds Apple TV, and lets you choose where your data syncs.

Why people switch to Trove

💸

No subscription

Clipboard history is a basic need. Trove gives you history, search, pinboards and iCloud sync for $0.

🔐

Encrypted end to end

Everything is encrypted on your device before it syncs. Not even Trove Cloud can read your clipboard.

🏠

Sync where you want

Use iCloud or your own server for free, or the optional Trove Cloud, or several at once. Your history isn't locked into one service.

📺

Apple TV too

Need a Wi-Fi password or a long code on the TV? Open Trove and scan it with your phone, or read it off the screen.

When Paste may suit you better

To be fair: Paste has years of polish and a dedicated team behind it. It offers Family and Team plans for sharing, and a lifetime purchase option. If you rely on those, or on features Trove doesn't have yet, Paste is a solid choice. Trove is new, and we're improving it in the open.

Switching from Paste

  1. Install Trove on your Mac and allow it to run at login.
  2. Pin anything you want to keep from Paste. Copy it once on your Mac and add it to a Trove pinboard.
  3. Install Trove on your iPhone, iPad and Apple TV. Your history syncs through iCloud automatically.
