Is Trove really free?
Yes. The apps, iCloud sync and self-hosted sync are free, with no ads and no tracking. Trove Cloud is an optional paid sync service for people who don't want to use iCloud. You never need it to use Trove.
Can Trove record copies on iPhone automatically?
iOS doesn't let any app read the clipboard in the background, including Paste and other clipboard apps. On iPhone and iPad you save with one tap: the Paste button, the share sheet, the keyboard or a Shortcut. Everything you copy on your Mac arrives automatically.
Who can read my clipboard history?
Only your devices. Items are encrypted with AES-256 on your device before they reach iCloud, Trove Cloud or your own server. The key lives in your iCloud Keychain.
How is Trove different from Paste?
Both keep your clipboard history in sync. Trove is free, adds Apple TV, and gives you a choice of sync: iCloud, your own server, or the optional Trove Cloud. See the full comparison →
